I picked this up on sale for I think $2.99. I was surprised by not only how big the world is, but how much there is to do within it. Graphics aren’t great, but again for the price aren’t that bad. Would recomend for those who like low prices games like this.

I bought Puzzle Hero when it was a buck during a promotion on Amazon. That’s a decent price for it, but I’d still much rather play Puzzle Quest, a far superior game of the same ilk which you can download for about the same price as this game right now. Both games have Bejeweled style game play with RPG elements mixed in, though Quest has a story to follow with lots of dialogue, more magic/skills, better graphics, and better sound. I will admit this game does seem to be made for younger kids, so if you’re a parent looking for a tamer cutesy option, this would be fine. Even if it gets marked down again, I would still recommend Puzzle Quest over this low budget imitator.

I would LOVE to review this game but I never got it to play. I downloaded and when it came time to get the game up and running it had a file missing. SO I tried to uninstall it, so I could reinstall….sounds easy right? But I got another evil error message that said I had to uninstall in 64 bit windows but it wouldn’t do it. Neither Amazon, nor the Software company, that they referred me too has been helpful in rectifying this problem. As a matter of fact I haven’t even heard from the software company. So, I am not happy at ALL with my experience in this matter and have no problem giving a negative review in the customer service area here!

Downloaded this game on a whim thinking it might be a strategy game to build and defend your kingdom in medieval times. Graphics are primitive and looks like the game itself was built in the 90s. I still gave it 3 stars because it is a decent time killer if you are brain dead and just want to play something.

it is boring about the 3rd time you play it….

This game seemed interesting at first and like it was worth the price, but all in all I have to admit I was a little disappointed. While it does work fairly easily, I’ve seen numerous free games of the same caliber that were easier to handle and play with and without the 3D aspect to them. The game itself was almost like playing a “Diablo 1.5″. It has some of the benefits from both Diablo and Diablo 2, but also manages to retain most of their downsides. For about $10.00 it isn’t too bad, I’ll most certainly play it, but if you’re looking for something to blow your socks off, this will most likely NEVER be it… To be frank, if it was even five dollars more expensive, I’d actually probably suggest skipping the game entirely…

If I can make a suggestion, try Baldurs Gate for a more original and interesting game. While Baldurs Gate 2 wasn’t all that great in my opinion, the original kept my attention almost all the way through and has a fairly similar system to this game. If you’ve already played Baldurs Gate, maybe try Diablo, Diablo 2, Icewind Dale, or Neverwinter Nights. Again, very similar games, but much more original and interesting with much fewer downsides (and you can get a few of them on amazon for about the same price with shipping.).

P.S. Haven’t beaten the game. I might learn to hate/love it more depending on my gaming experience with it.

While the other posts basically say it all, I thought that I’d add that myself & dh (both 46) and our 9yo are addicted to this game. Generally I’m not a gamer, but do enjoy a good game of Bejeweled every now and then, and dh basically only plays Tumblebugs. He stumbled upon this one and dragged 9yo dd into it, 2 months after I had downloaded it. They’re both hooked. Besides the obvious lining up of the same items, you must destroy the villians, which are pretty interesting to say the least. It’s not just a mindless game; it involves strategic planning; you need to think about what you need to continue play and to advance to the next round. I don’t want to get repetitive with the other posts, but this one is definitely a keeper.

when i downloaded this game i had no problems what so ever. game runs smooth and game play is beautiful and exciting. if strategy and adventure games are for you, then you can’t miss with this one. battles are turn based, kind of like might and magic series. quest’s have some puzzle in them and game balance depends on your skill level. a battle mouse indicator lets you know if monsters are to tough for you before you even attempt to fight them. also some role playing as your princess and dragon get new abilities and get bigger and badder. money well spent.

I really wanted to like this game more. With that said, you simply cannot go wrong at $6.99. The reasons I simply cannot give it better than 3 stars are its relatively unchallenging AI and the fact that it does not have multiple difficulty levels. Granted, some games end up being tougher than others, overall however it is relatively simple to win.

You are one of 4 lords vying for power in Medieval England. Using footmen, cavalry, crossbowmen, bowmen, and catapult you wage war on computer controlled adversaries. The reward for winning is undisputed rule over all of England. You manage your troops to defend lands you already own or to claim neutral or enemy lands. More land equals more power, and more importantly, more money for your troops.

The game does have quite a lot of replayability. No game ever goes the same. The developers simply failed to deliver a greater challenge. Once you have mastered the strategies of the game it takes a rare set of circumstances to cause you to lose.

It ran flawlessly on my Windows 7 platform for those with concerns in this area.
